Vanguard’s Retail Marketing team is conducting a search for a Head of Paid Strategy. As a Head of Retail Paid Strategy you will lead an agile paid channel team to develop and operate paid media strategies built to deliver measurable results for media investments. You will lead our agency partners in their execution of all media plans, manage budgets and performance through post reports and auditing.

Evolve and foster a new media approach, which includes:

  • Initiating or reviewing engagement plans to ensure proper consideration of the customer, media and environment.

You will educate internal creative, planning and cross-functional teams on the role of media, digital innovations, and opportunities. Provide a fresh point of view on new marketplace developments and trends and continuously brings in new paid media ideas from outside of Vanguard by connecting with vendors, partners, and other media experts within the industry

This individual will play a key role by delivering a data-driven approach, focusing on finding and adopting new ways to use data in audience insights, activation and measurement that lead to better integrated customer journeys, stronger media plans and more relevant content creation.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead product management activities for multiple products, or one strategic product, with cross-divisional impact.
  • Influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams to create best practices that drive significant change to the client experience. Ensures business outcomes are linked to business case drivers.
  • Coach product teams towards best practices and learnings. Oversee product teams’ support of the messaging, communication, and customer outreach as necessary.
  • Facilitate strong business support through working with team members to promote a consistent approach to decisions/impacts and client propositions. Drive connection across all appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead the planning, development and implementation of new products with cross-divisional impact. Define and analyze markets, developing detailed product features and requirements, and developing implementation plans.
  • Influence and employ a variety of qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques to continually improve the user experience.
  • Participate in and influences ongoing business planning and departmental prioritization activities.

What it takes:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of eight years related business experience. Three years of leading large cross-functional teams on major organizational projects preferred.
