Summary:
This position is responsible for maintaining, administering and supporting all Distribution Center systems, with primary responsibility being the warehouse management system (WMS) and interactive elements (RF, MHE, Conveyor, Pick/Put to Light) and the connections with the inbound and outbound transportation management systems.
Responsibilities:
First line of support for distribution center personnel with issues related to WMS.
Performs project management for all system related initiatives inside the DC. Participates as key member of cross-functional IT teams to provide support and project management for all WMS changes and new technology rollouts.
Understand WMS table/file structure in order to run queries to research or discover issues in WMS systems.
Insures accurate data flow between WMS, TMS and ERP systems.
Works with Distribution Services Managers to configure WMS system to match building operations.
Completes User Testing of all new functionality and changes to the WMS. Coordinates pilots of new functions or changes with DCs. Documents all systems changes.
Provides training on WMS to new advanced users at the DCs.
Maintains current and accurate documentation (technical and User) on DC systems for the purpose of problem solving, application development and User training.
Develops strategies and action plans to drive improvements to the systems and process inside the DCs.
Identifies new tools and technology to improve performance inside the DC. Summarizes and presents findings to management for approval.
Makes regular presentations to management on the status of DC systems and opportunities to make improvements. Leverages existing systems to drive operating excellence and improvements.
Qualifications :
5 + years within a growing distribution environment overseeing WMS processes and team
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Industrial Engineering, IT, Operations Management, Logistics or Supply Chain.
Working knowledge in a WMS (Manhattan Associates WMOS preferred), MS Office and AS400 Systems
Strong work ethic with a high degree of flexibility to work in an ever-changing environment
Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivated and well-organized
Demonstrated people leadership and development capabilities
Implementation experience
Capable of prioritizing and handling multiple projects at one time and have excellent follow-up skills
Ability to direct long term strategic projects related to the Company’s WMS
Ability to configure systems to allow for optimized operational performance
A professional and polished presence.
Must be flexible with work hour
Frequent travel required
