What We’re Looking For

Serve as principal firm representative in a geographic office location. Responsible for overall administration of office including business development, technical delivery, client relationships, and personnel so as to operate within the established goals and budgets for the office.

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Overseeing Des Moines, IA office location

  • Hiring and recruiting for location

  • Collaborating with HNTB Central States Offices in Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma on developing, implementing, and executing a strategic plan.

  • Maintaining and managing laddered relationships with our clients in Iowa

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering

  • PE/AICP

What You’ll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Actively manages assigned project management activities (client audits, project scope, schedule, budget and quality management) and performs technical discipline tasks including research, reports, design, specifications and plan preparation.

  • Responsible for day-to-day management including building, facilities, personnel/staffing projections, office services and production schedules.

  • Implements and executes the firm’s Sophisticated Sales Approach, Sophisticated Contracting Approach and Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SSA, SCA, SDA).

  • Responsible for the hiring, supervision, mentoring, professional development, evaluation and termination of department staff members.

  • Establishes priorities and work schedules and coordinates resource needs/assignments.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

  • 16 years relevant experience

  • 4 years supervisory experience
