]Responsibilities:

The Creative Director, Head of Content will oversee a dynamic creative team to execute the Express brand identity through art direction, fashion direction & styling and copy & editorial. This role will establish the weekly, monthly, and seasonal work streams that bring our brand and product storytelling directives to our customers in inspiring, cohesive ways. Reporting to the VP, Creative, this is a key role in delivering the overall look & feel of our brand, collaborating with the design, marketing, merchandising and ecommerce teams to propel the Express brand to new heights.
Must have an exceptional creative eye, a love for fashion, experience leading large creative teams, and a compelling portfolio of work that demonstrates creative vision, styling expertise and a photographic eye. You likewise must possess knowledge and experience to execute your ideas to an exact brand standard.


Responsibilities:
  • Develop a distinct form of storytelling for the brand focused on the latest fashion, styling advice and stories of inspiring people. Think on a campaign level and execute big-picture ideas. Create unique, compelling content that engages new and potential customers, reflects the consumer mindset and our brand architecture, complements and amplifies campaigns, and supports key business initiatives. Concept new and innovative ways to incorporate content and commerce. Define the brand voice and create uniqueness in the women’s voice and the men’s voice. Deliver brand and product storytelling consistently across all channels across customer and associate touchpoints.
  • Lead and develop the styling team to create and execute a distinct brand POV on styling across all channels. Work cross-functionally to lead and align on fashion direction, styling and product storytelling as well as use outside consultant stylists to maintain a relevant fashion POV.
  • Lead and develop photo studio & art direction functions to bring to life our brand architecture, seasonal campaigns, product stories and ecommerce assets. Work closely with creative leadership and agency partners to align on concepts, art direction, casting and the production of photo shoots. Lead the development of campaigns and editorials that will deliver on the brand positioning and the seasonal strategies. Deliver campaign, content and product assets that will help acquire new customers, create distinction for our men’s and women’s content, and create brand moments. Stay current on industry-leading creative, experiences and the competitive landscape.
Experience & Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+years of creative management experience in retail or fashion, including high volume, high production digital operations
  • Styling, art direction and/or content development experience in retail and editorial environments
  • 5+ years leading and developing teams of art directors, fashion editors, stylists, copywriters, editors and producers, both fulltime and freelance
  • Portfolio that demonstrates expertise in editorial, styling and art direction
  • Proven track record of developing and managing relationships with key business partners and key stakeholders
  • Experience managing and lead through ambiguity and change; strong problem solving skills
  • Propensity for breaking down complex workflows into manageable parts and managing to specific deadlines
