Overview:[

This position reports to the Manager of Global Continuous Improvement and acts as project manager for multiple projects (globally) with high impact on the enterprises performance or corporate strategy including critical Operations support projects.
The position will primarily drive product improvements by facilitating Value Analysis / Value Engineering workshops with cross functional design teams. The scope of products will include legacy and new product developments. Key supporting responsibilities will include establishing project pipeline with key business sponsors, driving project implementations with regular review cadences to check progress, and prepare sponsor communications on the status of project implementations.

As a secondary focus, the role may also manage functional and global projects and facilitate focused improvement events (Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping (VSM) & Process Flow Mapping (PFM).

This is a highly visible role within the organization, requiring high levels of energy, professionalism, and organization, along with demonstrated disciplined approach to planning, executing, and follow-up to achieve results.

]Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates and applies all basic and some specialized knowledge of engineering discipline.
  • Practical understanding of Operations systems and familiar with other business systems.
  • Coordinate projects across a multiple operations and business functions.
  • Takes a leading role on projects and drives them to meet budget and milestone goals as prioritized by customer and sponsor needs.
  • Identify problems impacting project goals and execute solutions to mitigate further delays to project schedule and budget overages.
  • Lead global and regional level cross-functional improvement projects with high scope and impact
  • Effectively communicate project results and needs appropriately to sponsors and direct leadership, both written and orally.
  • Contribute to the creation, implementation and sustainment of an operating system that leverages visual factory and root cause problem solving as ways to drive key behaviors that promote a culture of continuous improvement

This position is available at 3 levels dependent upon experience:


Education and experience required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline required, preferably from an ABET accredited program
Level I: Less than 2 years of relevant experience
Level II: 2 years of relevant experience
Level III: 3 years of relevant experience
  • A MS degree may be substituted for 2 years experience, and a PhD may be substituted for 4 years experience
Education and experience preferred:
  • Engineering degree (preferably in industrial engineering)
  • Master’s degree or MBA
  • Relevant enrichment courses or initialing progress toward a PMP certification
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Lean, VA/VE or other continuous improvement processes and tools
