Project Manager – Industrial/Commercial Painting

Job classification and hours:

Fulltime position, 45+ hours per week, Monday through Friday. Competitive wages and an extensive benefits package including profit sharing.

Description:

• Works closely with Estimators and Project Managers and provides support
• Manages all aspects of painting projects (multiple projects simultaneously)
• Responsible for scheduling and analyzing manpower needs
  • Working with human resources to interview, hire, and retain candidates
• Develops and coordinates production schedule and strategy
• Procuring materials and equipment
  • Scheduling delivery/pick-up
• Analyzing blueprints
• Evaluating specifications and proposals
• Estimating jobs
• Managing construction timetables
• Provides innovative solutions and ideas
• Makes sales calls and follow-up calls to customers/contractors
• Develops and maintains good relationships with customers and contractors
• Gathers pre-bid information:
  • Call on contractors
  • Performs Take-offs
  • Attend pre-bid walk-thru’s
• Attend contractor meetings
• Negotiates contracts and pricing

Required skills:

• Must be well organized and able to meet calendar deadlines
• High attention to detail
• Solid computer skills:
  • Competent use of Excel spreadsheets and formulas
  • Electronic communication and networking
  • File management/organization
  • Learning new software
• Minimum; 3-5 years in the construction industry
• Detailed understanding of commercial construction process

Other preferred skills/areas: (not required)

• Commercial/Industrial painting background
• Commercial Project Management experience running paint related jobs
• AutoCAD experience
• Ability to integrate and utilize software to improve accuracy/productivity
