SUMMARY
The Vice President of Facilities is responsible for ensuring Munson Healthcare facilities effectively and efficiently support operational, administrative, and clinical requirements. The Vice President provides recommendations for strategic planning, general management, and professional direction for facilities-related functions for all Munson Healthcare locations, including operations and maintenance, safety and security, capital planning, design, life cost analysis, and construction. The Vice President provides effective leadership including team building, knowledge, and expertise to sustain and support the Environment of Care and to deliver patient-focused services and solutions.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, business administration or related field required. Master’s degree or professional engineer license preferred.
- Ten years leadership/administrative experience in engineering and facilities areas; hospital experience preferred.
- Extensive background in TJC/CMS requirements, building codes, State Fire Marshall and Health Department regulations.
- Extensive experience with construction project delivery methods, including working with architectural, engineering, and construction management consultants.
- Five years’ experience managing major (>$5,000,000) construction projects.
- Demonstrated collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization.
- Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, time management, change management, performance improvement and project management skills.
- Demonstrated skills in organization, verbal and written communications, customer service, critical thinking and managing multiple competing priorities and understanding team dynamics
- Demonstrated leadership approach to coach and develop leaders, focus on process/systems, and regular interaction with staff to remove barriers that prevent achievement of organizational goals

- MMC Plant Engineering (HVAC, Maintenance, Energy Center, Grounds, Clinical Engineering)
- MHC Facilities Construction
- MHC Safety and Security
- MHC Real Estate and Property Management
- MMC Environment Services
Works with Entity Presidents, other senior/leaders for facility planning and major construction projects for the MHC system
Reports to the MMC COO and Liaison for Operations Integration.

SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Supports the mission, vision, values and principles of Munson Healthcare
- Embraces and supports the Munson Alignment framework.
- Provides the leadership and vision for the Facilities division that advances True North performance and MHC’s strategic goals.
- Meets performance expectations of the facilities division.
- Prepares schedules for the design and construction of MHC approved construction projects.
- Develops Master Facility Plans for MHC in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Ensures Munson Medical Center facility compliance with TJC, CMS and State regulatory standards.
- Reviews and recommends project estimates for all Munson Medical Center construction projects.
- Develops budgets for the operation of Facilities Design and Construction and – in coordination with the MHC Engineering Council – develops and recommends System Infrastructure capital budget.
- Coordinates the activities of outside consultants, as assigned for specific projects. Acts as the Owner’s Representative to assure that Munson’s requirements are continuously met.
- Acts as a technical resource for the Facilities Departments. In this capacity, may recommend repair and maintenance procedures, approve outside service contracts, prepare drawings and specifications, and supervise the startup of designed systems.
- May prepare or supervise the preparation of construction documents for Munson Healthcare facilities, other than Munson Medical Center, as assigned. May also supervise the construction of those facilities. May prepare budgets for those projects.
- Facilitates Space Committee and space requests and planning activities.
- Drives Facilities stewardship and sustainability efforts.
- Participates in community service activities, as requested.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
