SodexoMagic has an exciting opportunity for a Vice President of Operations – Facilities in Chicago, IL. This superb leader must have extremely strong interpersonal skills and client relationship skills at the C-Suite Level and all audiences. This includes building relationships with the extended team and vendors.

The VP, Facilities will lead strategic, operational oversight and direction of Facilities Management services (Integrated Facilities Management) and Comprehensive Service Solution for this large education account.

This VP, Facilities will

  • Support and direct all aspects of strategic facilities operations.
  • Possess a customer service/ client service mindset with a focus on operational excellence.
  • Monitor performance against Key Result Indicators ensuring Service Level Agreements are met.
  • Work with senior leaders to develop business strategies for account growth and retention.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to promote the Clients for Life philosophy.
  • Develop and innovate to promote improved performance within units.
  • Lead and inspire the team to continually improve Sodexo’s performance for our clients and customers.
  • Connect with State and City officials along with keeping a pulse of the surrounding community.

Requirements include:

  • Documented successful experience managing multi-site operations management of engineering, custodial, janitorial, project management, and small construction projects required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Documented experience leading a large team(s) to achieve outstanding results.
  • Strong experience managing multiple union workgroups.
  • Vast experience managing complex financial contracts.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience managing & guiding complex profit & loss Statements.
  • Demonstrated business and financial acumen with experience forecasting, budgeting and making necessary adjustments on a week over week basis to ensure successful financial operations.

]Position Summary:

The Vice President of Facilities Operations leads facilities maintenance operations of building(s) and property at a single mega-site or multi-site unit with four levels of management reporting up to this position. This position leads the integration of processes within the client organization to maintain and develop agreed services which support and improve the effectiveness of its primary activities. At the organizational level, the Vice President of Facilities Operations contributes to the delivery of strategic and operational objectives by reducing facility costs, and improving the productivity, revenue generating capacity and image of the entire organization. This position ensures a safe and efficient working environment, essential to the performance of the business. The Vice President of Facilities Operations manages construction work and may coordinate and/or oversee contracted services for major construction. The position often manages other core Sodexo services, and/or logistics of business/operations services, e.g., grounds keeping, laundry, food, security, inventory, mail, concierge services.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Basic Education Requirement- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience- 10 years
Basic Functional Experience- 10 years in facilities management, engineering, management of business/operations service in both soft and hard facilities services
