Position Summary:[

The successful candidate is responsible for leading, coordinating, and managing Millennium’s business growth both in national and international markets. Reporting to Millennium’s President and Chief Executive Officer, the successful applicant will develop/implement strategic plans and processes, lead a capable staff, and build and nurture positive client relationships. The candidate will lead the overall process for capture and development of Government proposals and lead the proposal process for existing and future clients/sponsors. Specific duties include budget development and management, pricing development, proposal writing, contract negotiations, and client presentations. They will support startup and transition of new and existing contracts and provide recommendations on strategic direction for growing locations CONUS/OCONUS. The successful candidate will provide specific expertise and knowledge of multiple mission areas including space systems, UAVs, launch vehicles, communication/C4ISR systems, and advanced technology. The successful candidate will also coordinate closely with Millennium’s business units in facilitating their business development activities.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop, cultivate and implement strategic market strategies, plans, and customer relationships
  • Develop and cultivate strong industry relationships and strategic partnerships
  • Identify and capture business new markets
  • Develop and implement capture plans and strategies for specific markets, customers, and US Government requirements
  • Develop customer marketing strategies, implement, and provide continual interface with local and national customers as identified
  • Define, analyze and update new business pipeline for entire Millennium enterprise
  • Lead formulation of proposal solutions in conjunction with team members and various functional groups
  • Provide guidance and leadership in development of a budget and price estimates using in house and new models
  • Develop project plans; define roles and responsibilities and the scope of work for each project with input from sponsors, project leaders, and functional groups
  • Communicate back to internal groups the outcome of the negotiations/proposals focusing on conveying the expectations set forth for each group i.e. clear details, critical timeframes, and expectations
  • Track and report on the status of proposal components
  • Establish and maintain on-going client relationships with the various parties to anticipate and resolve potential problems
  • Provide leadership and support to contract start up, transition, and operation as required
  • Participate in activities needed to support the management functions of the team.
  • Leads corporate communication efforts including internal and external communication Leads strategy and implementation for web-based content, use of social media, and existing/new internal communication methods
  • Identifies resources required for efforts, develops budgets, plans, and executes on schedule and on budget
  • Maintain and grow business development staff including promotions, improvement, and day-to-day operation
  • Lead implementation of marketing and social media strategies, focus on optimal communication of positive messages inside and outside of Millennium

Requirements
  • At least 20 years’ experience in industry business development and/or research and development arena
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal/relational skills
  • Experience working on-site with government and commercial entities in equity investment, new technical development initiatives
  • Must have demonstrated and successful experience leading government engineering services captures and proposals to non-commercial and commercial sponsors
  • Ability to influence and persuade to achieve desired outcomes
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and negotiation skills
  • Willingness to travel (up to 40% travel may be required)
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
  • Experience with budgeting processes
  • Demonstrated experience supporting current Millennium customers
  • Customer relationships and customer knowledge in the Intelligence and Cyber communities a plus
