JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Project Manager is primarily responsible for the leadership, development, and effective management of direct reports on the project team to ensure milestones and objectives are met. Drives the daily management, supervision, coordination and successful execution of the construction project to meet time and cost objectives with respect to contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding and contract administration.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage the performance and career development of direct reports. Lead the conversation framework process and develop talent through on-going succession and development planning. Challenges them with assignments to advance their careers.
- Maintains a robust understanding of safety requirements for all aspects of the site, including pre-planning, monitoring of construction activities and site conditions, and taking corrective actions to non-compliant work. Driving the Lendlease EHS initiatives on a daily basis with the trades/subcontractors.
- Leads the companyâs diversity and inclusion, flexibility, innovation and wellness initiatives to engage and retain top talent and establish Lendlease as an employer of choice.
- Manages team and stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes. Uses consultation appropriately to ensure internal stakeholders feel comfortable about what is happening with their project or service delivery.
- Provides balanced and constructive feedback to team members to help lift performance and build capability.
- Communicates company/regional strategy and how the financial decisions and commercial activities across the organization are interrelated and impact the ability to successfully deliver that strategy.
- Collaborates to establish the design process across the project. Understands the impact of current design-related issues on the overall project plan.
- Develops project cost planning and procurement strategy during preconstruction effort. Takes a lead role in managing the project to a cost plan.
- In consultation with other functional leads, sequences multiple complex scheduling challenges in a logical manner. Ensures temporary works and safety risks associated with the construction methodology are documented and mitigated, where possible.
- Assists in establishing the design management process across the project. Understands the impact of current design-related issues on the overall project plan.
- Establishes project objectives, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy. Executes procedures and processes to meet financial, schedule, and performance goals for the project.
- During project execution, evaluates construction progress and team performance to ensure projects are built on schedule, within budget, adhering to safety and quality standards. Identify and act on corrective steps, if necessary, to mitigate deficiencies or minimize risk.
- Plans, estimates, forecasts and controls revenue and costs, so the project delivers profitable outcomes and protects client and company interests.
- Facilitates discussions with legal to identify commercial departures/qualifications. Identifies the best way to manage and control contract risk. Ensures timely and accurate commercial and risk data management is conducted throughout the project’s duration.
- Ensures that an understanding of customersâ unique needs, requirements and values is communicated across the broader team.
- Promotes the growth and development of client, consultant, subcontractor, and vendor relationships.
- Works closely with Business Development and/or the Project Executive to support the identification, pursuit, and acquisition of new work and/or repeat work from clients.
GENERAL BACKGROUND AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 15 years of construction experience, working on large/complex commercial projects, preferably as the General Contractor.
- Mastered the skills of project management including contracts, buyout, scheduling, budgeting/cost control, financial reporting, client relations, safety, and insurance.
- Possess highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven success in managing and leading teams.
- Share in Lend Lease’s unwavering commitment to Incident & Injury Free (IIF).
- Fully proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook), as well as with standard construction industry related applications.
- Four-year Bachelor Degree preferred.
