Great American’s Property & Casualty IT Group is seeking a highly-qualified individual to lead its Enterprise Architecture and own our technology solutions. The individual will provide architectural leadership and strategy across the enterprise and will work in close partnership with the business and senior leadership to identify and implement leading technology practices.
]Responsibilities:
- Responsible for setting strategy and direction for enterprise architecture and enterprise technology solutions. Accountable for initial construction of solutions and transition to ongoing application teams. Accountable to ensure projected benefits are realized.
- Actively support and drive development toward target enterprise architecture and consistently drive technology innovation.
- Remove blockers that occur in the normal course of building out architecture and address them at the core of the problem to prevent reoccurrence.
- Drives growth through innovation and enterprise architectural advancements.
- Identifies and evaluates potential partners to further efforts and enhance company goals.
- Actively participates in strategic planning and proposes end to end technical options needed to support business strategy.
- Ability to understand spoken and unspoken capabilities needed to support business strategy; set and deliver appropriate supporting technical strategies.
- Actively participates in long-range strategy and capacity planning. Provide leadership to cross functional teams.
- Highly collaborative individual who regularly interacts with VP, CIOs and other C level functional leaders.
- Works with other members of the IT Leadership Team and business unit leaders and builds relationships to solve technical problems.
- Direct participation in IT executive leadership team. Actively help establish and deliver IT strategy across Property & Casualty enterprise.
- Provides strategic direction, coaching, and mentoring to an organization of some 20 people, technical leads in other areas, and contract resources. Empower them to be a best in class. Provide technical direction.
- Maintain knowledge of best practices in IT technology, development processes, and architecture.
- Accountable for managing department P/L and Project Budgets.
- Reports to the CIO.
Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of developing and leading application development or architecture organizations.
- Superior collaboration and leadership skills.
- Integrates multiple concepts across job functions with a goal of overall benefit to the organization. Thinks business first and end to end.
- Ability to develop and leverage strategic business relationships across the organization and externally.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Requires advanced technical and business knowledge in technology and enterprise architecture practices.
- Strong understanding of application, data and integration architectural domains.
- Experience in Insurance and Financial Services industries recommended.
