Le Maitre LLC is a pyrotechnic manufacturing facility based in Falcon, MO. The company is privately owned and produces a large variety of pyrotechnics for the entertainment industry including theme parks, theatres, rock and roll tours, etc.

The company Head Office is in Mitcham UK, a sales and atmospheric machine repair facility in Las Vegas and a pyrotechnic manufacturing plant in Peterborough, UK. Le Maitre is the leading theatrical pyrotechnic and special effects manufacturer and supply worldwide including USA, across Europe, Middle and Far East, South Africa and Australasia.

We’re seeking an experienced Safety Manager who can evaluate our current safety protocols, implement improvements as required, organise safety training for all staff, report problems to management.

The Factory operates Monday-Friday, 07.30-16.00.

Role responsibilities:

  • Carry out safety audits on staff, equipment and materials
  • Explore current safety procedures and alter as required
  • Examine the handling and storage of hazardous materials
  • Conduct safety training with staff and accident prevention
  • Conduct Risk Assessment
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, i.e. ATF, OSHA, State regulation, etc.
  • Continue to update procedures and policies when required by processes or new regulation
  • Liaise with OSHA and Workers Comp Inspectors on licencing requirements
  • Investigate incidents and near misses
  • Liaise with UK Manufacturing plant on Safety improvements
  • Liaise with Research and Development manager on creating new procedures, instructions
  • Overlook Hazmat processes
  • Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics

Role requirements:

  • Previous experience within the U.S. Explosives or Pyrotechnic/ Fireworks industry.
  • Proven experience as safety manager
  • Valid qualification in occupational health and safety, BSc/BA in safety management or relevant fields are preferred
  • Deep understanding of health and safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies
  • Good Knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
  • Strong computer skills
  • Previous experience/best practices implementing and using continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • A strong ability to be adaptable and flexible
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials packing, and shipping is essential

Salary package dependent on experience. Various benefits available.
