Scentsy
is looking for a Project Manager to help manage all aspects of projects and initiatives that involve Scentsy technology, products, and processes. As a member of the PMO (Project Management Office), the Project Manager will help to define, refine, follow, and educate others on the project management life cycle. Preference will be given to candidates that have experience with “limited time offer” product development and launches.


Things You Would Do:
  • Manage projects from inception through to closure following the project management life cycle including, but not limited to:

    • Defining the project charter
    • Identifying resource needs
    • Defining project schedules
    • Managing tasks, issues, and change
    • Coordinating training
    • Budgeting
    • Assessing and managing risk
    • Reporting project status
    • Scheduling and attending project meetings and retrospectives
  • Work effectively with resources from all areas of the business and across team boundaries
  • Identify, track, and drive issues through to resolution on projects
  • Work closely with Program and Portfolio managers to evaluate project alignment with the strategic vision and assess the overall health of a project’s schedule, scope, and budget
  • Create and foster an atmosphere of team collaboration, relevancy, and reliability throughout all departments within the Scentsy organization
  • Gain buy-in for changes from key stakeholders and retain buy-in through communication, organization, transparency, and a collaborative and positive approach
  • Effectively communicate across all areas of the company, tailoring your communication style and content based upon the audience
  • Ensure the alignment of resources and communication across teams to deliver high-quality and complete solutions
  • Provide concise and timely status reports during the project life cycle to key stakeholders that may include an Executive audience
  • Provide input and leadership to help define, refine, promote, and follow the project management life cycle and related artifacts
  • Perform all other assigned tasks and requirements as needed

You Should Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or demonstrated equivalent and related experience
  • 2 years of experience in project management or project coordination
  • 2 years of experience developing project plans and schedules, managing project progress, documenting project issues and activities, and creating status reports
  • Experience leading projects that involve stakeholders from multiple areas internal and/or external to the business
  • Experience leading projects that span multiple teams and specialties
  • Experience with issue, risk management, and work tracking systems
  • Experience leading projects that include software development and business process improvement or redesign

  • Work with senior project managers to grow project management proficiencies and skills
  • Negotiate effectively across teams and organizational structures
  • Work across multiple teams to manage project dependencies, risks, and issues
  • Monitor project activities for adherence to milestones, schedule, scope, and budget
  • Adhere to all established procedures, policies, and safety rules as outlined by the Company
  • Expected to work 40 hours per week; some overtime may be required
  • Minimal travel may be required

You Should Be Able To:
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of project management practices, processes, and methodologies (i.e. Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, KanBan)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of business process redesign and process improvement techniques
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Portfolio and Program management structures preferred
  • Demonstrate knowledge of project planning, governance, monitoring, controlling, and reporting techniques
  • Demonstrate knowledge of risk/issue management tools and framework
  • Exhibit an understanding of business and technology environments
  • Outstanding communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organization, work coordination, and follow through skills
  • Change management, risk mitigation, and issue resolution skills
  • Strategic view of how initiatives/changes will impact the company, teams, projects, and processes
