This position would act as a virtual CIO, CTO and IT Director for clients of Grove Technologies. The perfect candidate would be able to spot deficiencies, run audits, and write reports to help identify gaps in our clients systems, procedures and policies. Applicant would be able to write documentation, policy and maintain existing document sets for existing clients. Applicant has a good understanding of project management workflows and uses those to work smarter not harder.
Applicant should have at minimum a good understanding of Mac, Systems and Network Administration so as to help our clients make good fiscal & procedural changes and decisions. Applicant will also act in a sales role from time to time and commissions and bonuses will be paid commensurate to opportunities gained.
Grove technologies is a Mac IT Support startup which is breaking into the vCIO / vCTO space and this is the perfect opportunity for someone who wants a flexible work schedule to grow in an agile, young, fun company. Position starts as 1099 contractor and will grow into a full time role as client base expands.
Our clients are located in Washington DC. Remote, on-site work at our clients will be required.
DUTIES:
- Developing and overseeing SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time-based) metrics for hardware, software, and storage
- Ensuring strategic capacity planning
- Managing client IT departments, including:
- Directly supervising employees
- Hiring certain members for the IT Team
- Handling employeesâ concerns and performances
- Working in close collaboration with the technology team and other departments as collaboration requires
- Determining business requirements for IT systems
- Identifying and eliminating security vulnerabilities with strategic solutions that increase data security
- Directing and supporting the implementation of new software and hardware
- Identifying and recommending new technology solutions
- Managing the organizationâs help desk (internal, external, or both)
- Coordinating IT activities to ensure data availability and network services with as little downtime as necessary
- Overseeing departmental finances, including budgeting and forecasting
- Implementing executive policies
- Reporting back to Managing Directors
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience as IT director or as a Sr Systems Administrator with a prior Management role
- Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
- Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
- Experience in controlling information technology budget
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication abilities
- BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus
- Network Administration a plus *(Sonicwall, Cisco, Aruba, & Unifi products)
- Experience with PCI Compliance procedures and processes using Qualys
- Scripting Language Experience *(Bash, Python & Swift)
- JAMF Management & Apple Business Manager familiarity a plus
