Lead a team of highly invested co-workers in delivering our array products to visitors of Zion National Park and our sister parks, Grand Canyon and Bryce. We specialize in canyoneering, climbing, scenic hiking and VIP tours among these parks and across Utah. The Operations Manager ensures the day to day workflow of 8 outfitters in our rental and retail store as well as coordinates with our 12 guides for delivering trips.

As team leader, you would report directly to the company owner, Jonathan Zambella, and work alongside the reservation manager and company administrator. Roles would include but not be limited to:

Operational Manager Tasks

  • Staff Scheduling
  • Manage, reply to emails and calls for events and special needs
  • Keep all reservations in check
  • Keep store stocked / inventory ordering
  • Help advance best practices in the store
  • Review payroll data and submit paychecks to ownership
  • Vendor relationship management
  • Train new staff and update existing staff on the use of POS for retail and FlyBook reservation system for trips and rentals
  • Organize training events for staff and coordinate with owners
  • Keep a check on resource allocation, EG vehicle use, and condition/repair
  • Help with special assignments
  • Secure and transport cash from sales to the bank for deposit and ensure sufficient funds in cash drawer for daily operations
  • Occasional driving of trailhead shuttles
  • Work with guides to coordinate trip scheduling
  • Manage upkeep on vehicle fleet
  • Occasional assisting with trips when trained

Outfitter Roles

  • Ensure outfitter shifts per week are filled with properly trained and ready staff, and or otherwise take on those roles or shifts to provide superior service to guests during the scheduled store hours.
  • Lead the Outfitting team with updates and information
  • Represent ZionGuru in the community as an outfitter and community leader
  • Be a liaison with the NPS for visitor help
  • Help outfitters get the support they need to do their job
  • Arrange trainings
  • Help maintain the outfitting facility
  • Manage store inventory and ordering
