    Thrive of the Heartland is designed to assist families in creating paths out of poverty and promote long term financial stability. Rather than targeting a short term need such as housing or food, Thrive focuses on expanding opportunities, connections, social capital and eliminates barriers in the community that do not help families thrive.

    Position: Thrive of the Heartland, a 501(c)3 non-profit, is seeking a Program Coordinator to manage and grow our existing program in Salina, Kansas. Salary will be commensurate with experience and responsibilities.

    Job Summary: The Program Coordinator will be a key player in developing a healthy relationship between committees and the community for the on-going recruitment, training and retention of Thrive Leaders and Allies. This individual plays a critical role in ensuring the organization achieves its plans for growth in alignment with its mission, vision and values by engaging the community in convening a Guiding Coalition.

    About Thrive: Thrive works to boost the social capital of each participant in order to have more peer relationships as well as support systems who provide new networks of connections. Thrive also educates the community on issues low-income households are facing daily by addressing the essential needs of long-term stability like goal setting, analyzing barriers, and leadership.

    Responsibilities:

    • Identifying and securing grant funding
    • Recruiting Guiding Coalition members and community supporters
    • Collaborating with the Guiding Coalition to oversee and implement the Thrive budget
    • Assist in organizing fundraisers
    • Preparing reports as required
    • Maintain communications with community groups and interested parties
    • Networking with appropriate community sectors and groups
    • Recruiting Leaders and Allies for the program
    • Provide general assistance for Thrive committees and teams as needed
    • Ability to present in front of an audience

    Job Type: Part-time

    Salary: $18,000.00 to $19,500.00 /year
