Funeral Director/Embalmer
- Meets with families of the deceased to discuss funeral arrangements and requests.
- Explains pricing and product information for caskets and flowers to family and/or friends.
- Orders casket, flowers, and other necessities for funeral and memorial services.
- Oversees preparation and embalming of the deceased prior to the funeral.
- Accepts and process payments for funeral services.
- Ensures that set-up for the memorial service, wake, and funeral adheres to familiesâ wishes.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of the funeral home.
- Oversees transportation of casket to church and cemetery.
- Addresses and resolves customer issues or complaints.
- Maintains positive relationships with vendors, church officials, and cemetery directors.
- Compassionate towards the families and others
- Conforms to laws of health and sanitation, and ensures that legal requirements concerning embalming are met.
- Apply cosmetics to impart lifelike appearance to the deceased.
- Dress bodies and places them in caskets.
- Perform special procedures necessary for remains that are to be transported to other states or overseas, or where death was caused by infectious disease.
- Maintain records such as embalming forms and refrigeration logs.
- All other duties as assigned
Associate Degree required
Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer
Must be able to thrive in a fast paced work environment.
