Job Functions

As a Florida-based District Vice President of Admissions and Business Development in the skilled nursing home (snf) industry, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. Responsible for managing the admission and Business Development functions necessary to
ensure appropriate census and financial viability in all district facilities. Supervises Regional Directors of Admissions. This job description does not list all the duties of the job. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Achieve company census and mix goals and partner with VP of Operations to achieve annual budget projections.
  • Ensure that the admission department acts as a liaison between the company and the outside community.
  • Ensure that the admission department works with local community agencies to generate a positive image and encourage referral activities.
  • Approve appropriate participation in industry trade shows and community educational activities.
  • Assist Regional Directors of Admissions (RDA’s) in development of strategies to maximize admissions.
  • Assist RDA’s to develop relationships within each area to identify current and future business needs.
  • Assist in hiring, training and supervision of RDA’s and acts as a resource in hiring, training, and supervision Directors of Admissions when required.
  • Provide training in, admission, business development, managed care and customer satisfaction to key personnel in the company.
  • Maintain knowledge of current regulations governing Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance company reimbursement.
  • Responsible for the development and management of managed care contracts.
  • Maintain effective communication with company personnel.
  • Conduct business development conference call with RDA’s and develops plan of action when necessary.
  • Monitor effectiveness of adherence to company’s Territory Management System and assist RDA’s in training and implementation when needed.
  • Assist in development and implementation of company’s business development plan.
  • Responsible for preparation of annual budgets, in conjunction with RDA’s, RVPO’s, and VP’s of Operations, which include analysis and recommendations of occupancy percent, rate structures, promotional budgets, and product development.
  • Participate in the company’s quality improvement process by tracking and trending the level of customer satisfaction, reporting these results to the SVP Admissions and Business Development and assisting in the development of plans for improvement when necessary.
  • Adhere to all company Policies and Procedures, and participates in safety, quality improvement and infection control programs as assigned.
  • Responsible for the oversight of Physician Contracting and Credentialing.
  • Ensure that all direct line staff have read and signed the company’s Corporate Compliance Plan and Certification upon hire and annually thereafter.
  • Monitor arrangements with referral sources to ensure compliance with company’s Corporate Compliance Plan.
  • Has oversight of all admission practices to ensure compliance with policy and procedure which prohibit using inappropriate incentives to residents or their families and/or discriminating against prospective residents because of payment source.
  • Provide oversight with RDA’s to ensure that company’s admission agreement and related paperwork is signed by the resident/responsible party on admission and they are informed of the company’s billing procedure and the expectations from their payor source.
  • Coordinate with the RDA’s a company presence via a display booth at appropriate state health care associations as assigned.

Education/ Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree in a Healthcare field preferred.
  • Minimum multi- facility (20 +) experience in SNF, skilled nursing home based operations.
  • Five (5) years experience in business development. Managed care/insurance preferred.
  • Minimum of Three (3) years proven management experience.
  • Experience with provider relationships and claims processing preferred.
