    Director of Facilities

    Job Description

    The Director of Facilities is accountable to the Pine Lake Camp Director

    Responsibilities:

    • The care, maintenance, construction and use of the Pine Lake Camps facilities and grounds.
    • Hosting camps, retreats and events promoted by Pine Lake Camps and guest groups.
    • Process, record and forward Pine Lake Camps accounts payables.
    • Train summer staff on protocol for emergencies.
    • Train summer staff on how to run the zip line effectively
    • Assisting the Camp Director in communicating the vision and value of the ministries of Pine Lake Camps to increase participation, volunteerism and support.
    • Serve as the primary camp representative in the absence of the Camp Director.
    • Being on-call and/or irregular work schedules
    • The ability to accomplish tasks independently.
    • Working knowledge of skills required to manage, repair and improve camp property and equipment.
    • Ability to organize and direct maintenance and volunteer staff.

    Care and maintenance of the facilities and grounds may include:

    • Providing a safe, healthy and comfortable setting for campers and guest groups.
    • Performing, supervising or coordinating for care, maintenance and improvements.
    • Recruiting and facilitating churches, volunteers and staff to accomplish the care, maintenance and improvements.

    Hosting events may include:

    • Communication/Coordination with program staff , lining up other staff to help facilitate activities, and event leadership.
    • Providing onsite/on call support during camps, retreats and events.
    • Ensuring facilities and grounds are prepared in a timely manner to meet the camp or guest group expectations and needs.
    • Being responsible for the safety of staff, guests and property in the event of weather related emergencies.
    • Assisting the Director, staff and guest staff in response to emergencies.

    Assisting the Camp Director in the promotion may include:

    • Visits and presentations to churches as time and schedules permit.
    • Communicating facility project needs for volunteers and financial support.

    Principal Accountabilities:

    Buildings and Grounds

    • Perform or oversee maintenance, housekeeping, renovation and new construction.
    • Provide staff training and resources for maintenance and housekeeping staff.
    • Supervise maintenance/ housekeeping staff and facility project volunteers.
    • Complete and monitor bills for camp director
    • Develop and monitor the budget as it relates to buildings, grounds and equipment operations.
    • Manage and monitor utility usage.
    • Assist in buildings and site future planning.
    • Communicate facility and grounds needs and opportunities with interested parties.

    Equipment

    • Operation, maintenance and repair.
    • Procurement

    Guest Event Host

    • Coordinate building usage, building preparation and setup.
    • Accommodate guest group needs.
    • On-call availability.

    Program

    • Ropes course maintenance, repair, quarterly inspection and staff training.
    • Ropes course facilitation as needed.
    • Assist program staff with equipment, transportation and special requests.
    • Be available to provide presentations to the churches and interested groups as required.
    • Build relationships with current and potential volunteers, supporters and donors.

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Assist the camp in fulfilling its Mission in serving campers and guest groups.
    2. Strive to fulfill camp’s Core Values throughout personal daily activities.
    3. Meet weekly with supervisor for accountability, to review tasks and performance, to seek input, and to pray.

    Certifications-Would like:

    Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsement

    Certified Pool Operator’s Certificate

    Ropes Course Facilitator’s Certification

    Emergency First Aid Certification

    Skills

    Working knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, grounds keeping, mechanics, audio/visual equipment operation, public water supply management, staff management, finances, guest relations, safety, emergency first aid, and pool operations, communication and organizational skills.
