Circle Media is looking for a Digital Project Manager-Scrum Master who will be responsible for delivering our new Subscription Video OnDemand/OTT platform targeted to country music lifestyle enthusiasts. As a joint venture between Opry Entertainment Group and Gray Television, this is a unique opportunity to fill a massive gap in the entertainment industry and delight country music fans around the world.
The Digital Project Manager-Scrum Master will be responsible for managing projects involving cross-functional teams focused on launching new software products and supporting broadcast operations processes. You will create and maintain technical and operational project plans, manage vendor and contractual dependencies, evaluate resource availability and allocation, report regularly on engineering efficiency and effectiveness, anticipate bottlenecks, provide management escalation, recommend trade-offs and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
Your understanding of the agile software development process (discovery/UX, user stories/functional specifications, system/architectural design, development, configuration, QA testing, and deployment) is crucial in identifying and mitigating risks early in the product life cycle and ensuring successful product launches. Experience in a software engineering environment or similar technical background is required.
You must be able to coordinate between teams of technical resources and product/operational stakeholders and have an understanding of the technologies, systems, and processes that will be used in achieving project objectives. You will primarily interface with the Product Management, User Experience, Engineering, QA and Broadcast Operations teams to ensure the successful delivery of new digital and media products. Maturity, leadership, organization, objectivity, technical savvy, sound judgment, and the ability to effectively balance multiple priorities will be crucial for success in this role.
]Responsibilities:
- Responsible to facilitating daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective meetings.
- Lead and manage project-level forums to regularly review project and/or software development process health, risks, dependencies, mitigation options, resource contention and escalated issues.
- Publish detailed project plans including sprint velocity and quality metrics, resource utilization, cross-functional dependencies, milestones, launch dates and critical path analysis.
- Efficiently manage projects with resources spread over multiple geographies (US, India).
- Publish weekly project updates/dashboards including the latest status, A|B test results, variance from plan, high priority/blocking issues, mitigation plans and decisions needed.
- Reports to the SVP of Digital and will have regular exposure to the executive team.
- Understand and communicate the value of metrics and incremental delivery.
- Knowledge of tasks, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, user stories etc.
- Familiar with common development practices, Service oriented environments, and Agile practices.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in a software development environment.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a program or project management capacity in an agile/scrum.
- Scrum-master certification preferred but not required
- Experience in the digital media industry preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of the product life cycle, as well as associated tools, processes and operational planning.
- A process-oriented disposition is critical, with experience successfully crafting, documenting and optimizing processes appropriate to organizational culture and goals.
- Demonstrated success leading high-performing agile engineering teams.
- High energy, strong collaborative team player, creative thinker and strategic influencer.
- Should be a good coach in Agile practices. S/he can influence individuals and interactions over hard and fast processes and tools.
- Help team or individual to clarify goals and actions to achieve them.
- Ability to shield his team from outside distractions and interferences.
- Ability to ensure the correct use of scrum process as well as track and remove impediments.
- Experience using project management, roadmap, issue tracking and documentation software (e.g. Atlassian/Jira suite or similar).
- Must be able to work and communicate effectively with both business and technical people.
- Vendor management experience a plus.
