SUMMARY: The Vice President (VP), Programs is responsible for leading program research, performance measurement, and reporting practices for all student-focused and student-serving programs of the College Success Foundation (CSF) to support timely and reliable monitoring of programs’ success. The (VP), Programs will effectively employ data-driven and research-based decision-making management practices.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


National Program Leadership and Management

  • Serve as leader of all areas aligned to programmatic outcome, including but not limited to CSF middle school, high school and post-secondary programmatic improvement, curriculum, as well as professional development of direct services programmatic staff.
  • Recruit, select, onboard and develop high performing team members.
  • Lead the regional teams to achieve targeted goals in high school graduation, direct-to-college rates, student persistence, college graduation, and other sub-factors.
  • Provide programmatic oversight for national, statewide, local, and regional strategic support initiatives.
  • Responsible for partnership management, staffing, program logistics and evaluation.

Finance and Administration – Systems Management

  • Partner with CSF executive team to facilitate accountability for aggregated and disaggregated site budgets, finances and data management systems.
  • Understand organizational infrastructure and operations to provide effective support to program work streams.
  • Ensure awareness and knowledge of grant management processes, procedures, and protocols and responsibility for the same within Regional Programs & Operations.
  • Provide leadership and oversight in the development and maintenance of the annual budgets for the department.

Program Delivery, Impact and Evaluation

  • Collaborate with CEO to ensure strategic evaluation of CSF student-focused programs and delivery of the same, toward overall national programmatic efficacy.
  • Supervise the development of program specific goals, preparation of short and long-term plans, and the implementation of programs and services for assessment, grant development, and planning.
  • Lead the development of policies and procedures related to quality improvement.
  • Monitor activities for and ensure compliance with laws, requirements, and CSF policies.
  • Initiate and oversee the development of comprehensive quality/performance improvement, and accountability of Programs.
  • Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with external agencies and stakeholders.
  • Oversee quality assurance reviews and address areas in need of attention.
  • Serve as staff to board program committee, to ensure direct student service activities and outcomes are appropriately communicated and appropriate board input is garnered.

Management

  • Ensure direct reports are maximizing their individual strengths and assets within the context of regional team and the larger national organization, with explicit professional development priorities.
  • Work effectively with key organization leaders on the program, advancement, finance, and research and evaluation teams.
  • Build a strong mission-focused team and ensure staff members are maximizing their individual strengths and assets, with explicit professional development priorities.
  • Steward a strong culture based on our core values and reflective of our commitment to diversity and inclusiveness.
  • Establish annual national goals for Regional Programs & Operations, as well as the annual objectives, and strategies that align with CSF’s ambitious strategic plan.
  • Lead and manage team performance in order to ensure high quality program delivery within an accelerated, start-up time frame.

Advancement

  • Work alongside Development team to identify prospective funders and manage ongoing relationships, as requested and as necessary.
  • Work with the Development team to ensure programmatic input into larger development projects such as video productions for major CSF events and content for national newsletters, representative of regional operations and student voices.
  • Collaborate with the Director, Marketing & Strategic Communication to develop stories for the press, thought leadership, and grant applications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills. Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.

  • Fiscally responsible and financial decision-making.
  • Microsoft Office365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint and Outlook).
  • Utilize proactive approaches to problem-solving with decision-making capability.
  • Be a “self-starter”, able to work independently while observing and complying with all standards of the supervision personnel and relating programs and services of the employer.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Provide leadership and supervise the planning, development and establishment of new modified and/or improved accountability services and activities.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

  • PhD Degree required from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 10 years of successful senior level education leadership, business management, supervising, and managing comprehensive assessment and evaluation systems.
  • Previous K-12 teaching and/or leadership experience preferred.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to; reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work environment is moderately quiet. Employees must be able to handle stress that is involved in meeting strenuous customer deadlines, working in high volume areas and be flexible and able to interact with employees and students of all levels.
