We’re looking for an experienced product manager to join our team to help fulfill this mission.
The product manager role at Tandem is all about collaborating with clients to help them solve meaningful business challenges. This involves interfacing with stakeholders and users to understand needs, coordinate requirements gathering, and collaborating with UX designers and engineers to facilitate a team’s arrival at the best possible solution factoring in all trade offs. In short, the product manager’s role isn’t to dictate solutions, but to help bring together the best ideas and input of all parts of a team (client and Tandem).
Product managers spend their days working directly with their clients and cross-functional teams of UX designers, engineers, and supporting roles such as test and DevOps engineers. And like all team members, the product manager will exemplify Tandem’s values in the execution of this work.
In this role you will…
- Work closely with your teammates and customers (during and after the sales process) to discover the best possible product to solve customer needs
- Participate in user research efforts lead by our UX and research teams
- Manage and maintain the product feature backlog and contribute to overall product strategy and roadmap
- Integrate customer and end-user feedback into prioritization of future work
- Define detailed requirements based upon policies, user testing, service design, and desired outcomes
- Craft detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for the team to execute, and work with other team leads (design, engineering, etc) to ensure stories are vetted and ready for work
- Collaborate with team leads to ensure work streams are coordinated across dependencies
- Facilitate required meetings and sprint ceremonies
Requirements
Skills and Experience
- 3-5 years as a product manager within the software industry building enterprise grade product
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders and collaborating with discipline leads (design, UX, software engineers, etc)
- Comfortable working closely with clients and experience building customer relationships
- Strong experience working with an agile methodology
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); we like to describe ourselves as concise, accurate, warm, but direct
- Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to adapt to various working and communication styles
- Solid understanding of basic business and economic principles
- Detail oriented and obsessive about precision and completeness
- Proactive and self-directed
