The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence (CCME) is seeking a Medical Director to provide advice, guidance and clinical expertise as it regards the Medicaid population. This role works collaboratively with CCME leadership and the NC Medicaid Division of Health Benefits (DHB) to ensure proper medical direction and insight as it regards the external quality review (EQR) contract.

The Medical Director responsibilities include: integrating medical expertise while managing strategic and operational responsibilities; translating evidence of clinical effectiveness to strategic medical policy; demonstrating knowledge about technology and the ability to collect and manipulate data to guide informed decision-making; and developing, maintaining and collaborating to support working relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

• Must be a currently licensed Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.)
• Five (5) years of experience serving a Medicaid population
• Demonstrated knowledge of population health, managed care delivery systems quality improvement, healthcare transformation, value-based purchasing; care management/care coordination models
• Preference given to a Medical Director with at least three (3) years of experience with behavioral healthcare
