Desired Experience
- Substantial experience managing, training, and building community with camp staff.
- Proven track record of designing, implementing and leading camp programs.
- Minimum of two years management experience in summer camp, preferably ACA-accredited.
- Additional experience teaching and/or managing school year educational programs (classroom, afterschool or outdoor) strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of summer camp, creating an inclusive, organized, professional experience and program for campers and staff.
- Oversee operations of expanded learning program during school year, delivering programs focused on academic and social-emotional learning to school clients.
- Lead and manage up to 30 staff members, ensuring quality group leadership, positive community and overall professional performance.
- Provide excellent customer service to camp families and school clients to ensure a professional, positive, and memorable experience.
- Set, work toward and achieve measurable professional development goals.
- Support marketing, staff recruitment, hiring and training processes.
- Accountable for provision and upkeep of camp supplies and equipment in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Innovate and strategize throughout the year as a member of Tumbleweed’s executive team.
- Assist with all areas of camp as needed and assigned.
Compensation & Benefits
This is a full time exempt position, and we are committed to competitively compensating camp staff.
Expect to work long hours, evenings and weekends during the spring and camp season with less-demanding schedules in the fall and late winter. Other benefits include:
