Responsible for developing the Company’s overall credit strategy and managing the aggregate risk of the credit portfolio. Oversees the credit portfolio with the objective of maintaining high-quality borrowing strategies, implementing risk-mitigation procedures, and maximizing profitability for the Company. Supervises all credit-related aspects of the company, including credit administration and Operations protocols where necessary.

Key Functional Areas of Responsibility

  • Develop credit products through sound underwriting strategies and testing strategies to minimize time to market and maximize diversification of risk and profitability
  • Establishes and manages underwriting policy for predicative decisioning of credit extension to maximize profitability
  • Initiates, develops, and oversees the implementation of data-driven credit policies and procedures
  • Works with Marketing and Finance to develop and execute on long-term goals maximizing profitability
  • Lead and coach Credit and Operations Teams
  • Oversees credit and collection policies, procedures, and processes ensuring appropriate mitigation of risks inherent in the credit portfolio
  • Works closely with Legal to coordinate management of the collection process, recommending proper strategies to Management and the Board
  • Responsible for the attainment of credit objectives, implementing a budget and the overall direction and operations of the Credit Department
  • Oversees and provides active management of the Company’s credit analysis function
  • Direct preparation and oversight of performance and reporting
  • Recommends modifications that reflect developing risks, economic conditions and projections, and the competitive environment
  • Ensure supporting business functions adhere to and maintain credit standards
  • Primary liaison to examiners, loan review, internal and external auditors
  • Participates in the development and implementation of the Company’s strategic objectives
  • Develops and ensures maintenance of Company credit standards
  • Develops and maintains an in-depth understanding of credit facility and loan structures, financial performance, collateral, documentation, industry trends, compliance with terms and conditions, and any other factors that impact the Company’s credit and risk exposure

Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years’ credit management experience in online lending, with at least 2 years in a VPC/CCO role

Education: Business, Accounting, Finance, Statistics or Economics Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred

Travel: Travel up to 25% may be required
