The Arizona Game & Fish Department is responsible for managing Arizona’s fish and wildlife resource as an enduring public trust. JOB INFORMATION

Under direction of the Information Systems Branch Chief, this position is responsible for management of software development, implementing new software applications, and support of applications/systems at the Arizona Game and Fish Department. Duties include the development, design, programming, testing, implementation and evaluation of new applications (internal and external facing applications) and existing internal and third party developed applications and provides and manages production support to all applications. This position supervises and manages the daily operations of an IT team to include database administrators and programmers. Leads and participates in project teams related toward the design and implementation of new and/or improved applications. Reviews system operations and ensures compliance with federal, state and department rules, laws and statutes applicable to position. Develops and maintains the Department’s System/Applications Program schedule. Works with internal and external customers and other state agencies to design and support systems to enable the department to achieve its operational, tactical and strategic goals. Perform other duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The candidate must have:

  • Experience developing systems in the following environments

o .Net Core

o MS SQL

o MySQL databases

  • Experience deploying applications to the following platforms

o Windows Server

o Linux

o Virtual and Cloud

  • Experience deploying web/mobile applications
  • Experience with the implementation and management of eCommerce applications (web and mobile app)
  • Experience managing multiple projects and programs
  • Experience implementing and managing data warehouse solutions and enterprise data models
  • Ability to build, motivate and manage high performing teams
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts into business terminology

The preferred candidate will have:

  • Experience developing and managing eCommerce systems
  • Education

o BS Degree or Equivalent Experience, Required

o Master’s Degree or Equivalent Experience, Preferred

Position requires possession of and the ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.11.).
