Summer Camp Director

The Lake Roland Nature Center is seeking a responsible, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to plan, coordinate and lead nature camp during the summer of 2020. Major responsibilities include presenting environmental-based programs, games, crafts and activities while ensuring safety and well-being of campers while working in cooperation with rangers, camp counselor and interns.

Applicants must:

• Have or pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies, Recreation and Parks, Park Management, Education or closely related field
• Open to working in summer heat and rain
• Comfortable supervising a camp team of 3+ of staff and interns
• Comfortable working with groups of 20 children
• Comfortable presenting environmental based lessons daily
• Comfortable caring for and handling a range of animal ambassadors for use in educational programs. This may include: reptiles, amphibians, insects and mammals.
• Have reliable transportation

Camp staff will work an average of 35 hours/week.
