Full Job Description
We are looking for a vibrant and dynamic personality for the Activities / Social Director position to lead residents in social activities and mental stimulation through daily events and programs designed to engage and make a difference in the lives of our seniors. We are looking for a high energy individual to fulfill one of the most important roles in our community. Hours vary, some nights and weekends required.
Job responsibilities:
- Create a fun and innovative recreational program for our residents
- Assess the interests and activity needs of our residents at the time of move-in and continuing through an on-going process of assessment
- Stimulate residents by offering activities that promote mental, intellectual, creative, spiritual and physical well-being
- Planning and developing monthly activities calendar and newsletter
- Coordinating and planning events that appeal to our residents
- Develops relationships with residents to encourage their participation in activities that enhance their quality of and appreciation for life
Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must have excellent communication/leadership skills
- Must have at least one year of experience in conducting group activities and events
- Must love seniors and have a great sense of humor
- Experience in Recreational Therapy or related field preferred
