Position Summary:
The Settlement Manager oversees and is responsible for the validation, analysis, and reporting performed for financial settlements resulting from daily wholesale and retail operational and commercial activities in assigned markets for Tenaska Power Services Co. and its customers.

Essential Job Functions:
- Manages Settlement Analysts and direct their work activities, including hiring and providing ongoing performance feedback
- Monitor the assigned Markets to identify rules changes affecting Settlement results and impacts to customers.
- Attend market meetings and market conference calls representing TPS and its customers.
- Provide market reports and maintain management and customers informed of relevant market information as it relates to Settlements.
- Assist Origination team in customer visits and presentations regarding Settlements.
- Assist Origination and Business Development team evaluating new business opportunities.
- Attend Origination and Energy Management meeting and report relevant information to team.
- Verify accuracy of settlement results on Customer Portal, Settlement Reports and Marketing Fee Reports.
- Assign requests and project tasks to team members.
- Monitor requests and project tasks are completed on time.
- Guide and support team members with individual tasks as needed.
- Oversees the creation and maintenance of settlement procedures documentation
- Oversees the downloading/uploading of required data files to/from Customer and Market portals and FTP sites, including submission of settlement quality meter data
- Oversees the filing of settlement disputes and supporting documentation on behalf of Tenaska and its customers and tracking the outcomes of those disputes
- Promotes good communication and cooperation with other TPS departments
- Is dependable, reliable, and predictable as required by Tenaska Power Services Co.âs Employment policies
Required Experience
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelorâs degree in a technical or business discipline (Ten years related experience with an electric utility may be substituted for a degree)
- Relevant energy market experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Programming language (SQL and/or C#) and database knowledge is a plus
- Intermediate experience level or higher with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Access, and PowerPoint
- High experience level with Microsoft EXCEL, including creating and maintaining pivot tables and LOOKUP functions
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Responsive, meets goals, and follows through on a consistent basis
- Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Good presentation skills
- Problem solving skills, ability to use logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches, distinguish trends and impacts, and identify causes and effects
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to promote an environment of teamwork
The job will require sitting in an indoor office environment, the need to visually read various written materials including, but not limited to paper documents and computer monitors. The job may also require standing, bending, walking, lifting up to 10 lbs., carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, crouching, driving, and airline travel.
The incumbent will have the ability to use standard office equipment such as PC, printer, telephone, calculator, and copy and fax machines. Travel required to meetings in other office buildings including local and domestic.
