ECOSYSTEM
WAFT combines different technologies & platforms to operate its Influencer Fragrance Market model.
Customer-facing we are using a combination CMS and FB Messenger chatbots with extensive API writing as well as integration tools with the like of Integromat.
To measure critical Marketing KPIs as well as campaign efficiencies with use ORIC, GA & Mdgx…
On the backend, we use extensively HubSpot as a CRM to manage Influencers.
The underlying environment is Angular (mean stack) and AWS, hosting Php for the CMS as well as using MangoDb. For order management, bigCommerce is integrated with the above eco-system.
Coding & scripting needs are met with JS, NodeJS, JSON, and Java.
The revenue model is supported in part by paid media across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and Pinterest.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
This is not a remote position; no relocation application please; New York City & Tri-State Only
As a Senior Head of Technology & Development at WAFT, you will be responsible for the operations & innovations of the currently used platforms and technologies.
You will address your team, on a day to day basis, the resolution of different troubleshooting tickets and able to identify immediately & pro-actively the areas of platform malfunctions so you can lead effectively the developers under your supervision.
Secondly, you will be accountable for the delivery of the 2020 WAFT plan of technology optimizations, enhancements & innovations. Upon acceptance of the plan, you will take on the responsibility for its execution and timely delivery to the organization to maximize revenue generation and enterprise value.
Overall as a leader, you will work very closely with the Paid Media personnel and Senior Digital Media Strategist to integrate Ad campaigns and assure our paid media ads, function as expected, with the technologies we are pointing them to.
You report directly to the CEO and Executive Chairman of the company and as such you are pro-actively aligned with the strategic long term goals of the company and able to voice with wisdom, expertise, and confidence the vision of your technology plan and its impeccable execution and how it supports the organization objectives.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Residing at a commuting distance from New York City and currently employed in an organization and administering most of the technology platforms above referenced (AWS, HubSpot, Chatbot, MEAN Stack, API & Integrations, CMS, Paid Media, CRM, JS etc…), you have a maximum of 10 to 15 years of proven experience in the development, integration, and utilization of these leading technologies and development platforms.
As an accountable technology leader, you have the ability to dive into details and be tactical (APIs, JS, HTML, CSS, CMS, AWS, Angular) when it is needed, demonstrating to the team you are able to resolve problems quickly when they arise and without reverting for every technology request to an offshore support team or developer.
For every solution or new request (payment issues, ad redirects and CTAs, etc…), you are able to foresee the consequences on our product and the consumer experience; as such, you are able to communicate which technology choice is most beneficial.
You have graduated from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 College with a Ms in computer science or engineering.
As a student and adult, you have demonstrated your ability to work with communities, at work and outside of work, and you are able to provide with commendable personal and professional references.

TOOLBOX & SKILLS
- Be an expert with the administration, hands-on configuration and daily management of AWS.
- Have strong skills and experience with Angular (light MEAN Stack) as a development platform.
- Steady experience and exposure to ChatBot technology so you are able to understand the technology and you have the ability to lead development into it.
- Strong skills to knowing how to develop templates in CMS platforms (WordPress, HubSpot CMS, etc…); know the pros & cons and know what is the best platform to deliver the page behaviors expected in correlation with the other technologies it is integrating to.
- Own scripting and coding relevant experience with HTML, CSS, JS, Node JS, JSON or the likes so you are not foreign to reviewing pages and altering behaviors on the fly or ask questions during the development phase before it hits the production environment.
- Able to manage effectively a MangoDB database and write queries on the fly if needed and able to troubleshoot.
