    Job summary

    The Procurement Manager is responsible for establishing the procurement strategy, leading procurement projects and executing supplier relationship management. Sourcing projects include, but are not limited to, contract manufacturing, raw materials, packaging materials, warehousing and distribution. This position will serve as the Garden of Life functional expert for Procurement.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develop integrated purchasing strategies to support GoL goals and objectives
  • Run the procurement process including the supplier selection and award process
  • Analyze spend and other data to identify, negotiate and execute cost-savings, cost-avoidance, risk mitigation and portfolio optimization opportunities.
  • Lead and build relationships with suppliers with a focus on development of capabilities, pricing stability, and anticipation of supply disruptions.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance; resolve production/relationship issues. Other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION
    Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or professional supply chain certification preferred

    EXPERIENCE

  • Five (5) years experience in a Procurement or Strategic Sourcing focused role.
  • Experience in a fast paced, innovative industry preferred.
  • SPECIFIC OR ADDITIONAL SKILLS

  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong experience in the sourcing process (RFI, RFP, RFQ)
  • Strong experience in sourcing and procurement techniques with the ability to read and leverage market conditions.
  • Excellent communication including written, verbal and presentation to senior level audience.
  • Excellent facilitation skills for cross-functional team leadership
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment with high ambiguity
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, LICENSES, ETC

  • Microsoft Excel Required, Oracle experience preferred, APICS/ISM Certifications preferred
