    Position Summary:

    Strategic partner to drive and support growth by delivering competitive packaging solutions that are responsive to the needs of the business and in line with the Company guidance in terms of quality, safety, consumer & customer preference (Innovation & Renovation projects), compliance and sustainability. Lead and coach direct reports to deliver Innovation, Renovation, Optimization projects, and transfer of knowledge to factories, while ensuring compliance with Nestlé Policies and standards, local regulatory and legislative requirements.

      Key Responsibilities:

    • Implement Innovation & Renovation Strategy
    • Lead, coach and develop NHSc packaging associates to ensure on time/on budget delivery of projects in line with consumer needs, the business strategy and the operational set-up.
    • Work with cross-functional teams i.e. marketing, operations/factory, NPTC/TCU/, suppliers, and networks to identify opportunities for industrialization of packaging innovations/renovations.
    • People & Know How:

    • Identify, develop, and maintain the technical competencies required for packaging mastership to enable manufacturing excellence.
    • Ensure knowledge transfer related to packaging mastership to eliminate the root cause of assistance requests
    • Ensure local coaching and training resource for packaging mastership are provided for the factories
    • Continuous Improvement/optimization of current products and processes within factories and external manufactures according to local business needs and supply situation and/or implementation of initiatives
    • Support Operations in reducing waste, problem solving and improve overall packaging efficiency in filling and packing as well as material usage.
    • Managing projects related to technological rationalizations in line with factory priorities Implementation of global or business driven initiatives, support suppliers or external manufacturer development to ensure supply.


      Safety, Quality and Compliance:

    • Ensure full compliance with company policies and regulatory bodies regarding packaging materials, operation and quality standards.
    • CoC validation and documentation for food contact packaging
    • Collaborate with NQAC, NPTC/R&D and Packaging Technology Specialists to implement Packaging Material Monitoring Plan.
    • Drive quality improvement in our packaging in collaboration with Factory Packaging Technology Specialist


    Sustainability:

  • Drive packaging material reduction and solutions with lower environmental impact. Understand existing local waste management streams

Qualifications


    Experience and Education Requirements:

  • A BS or MS degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering Packaging Science, Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Consumer Packaged Goods / food industry experience.
  • Experience leading teams and/or direct reports. Working knowledge of the food industry with a broad understanding across manufacturing & technical.
  • Cross functional/cross market experience highly preferred.
  • Working understanding of aseptic filling, hot fill and retort processing highly preferred
  • Key packaging resource to develop required packaging for e-commerce,
  • Very specific focus for this position for E-Commerce including Amazon Ship in Own Case (SIOC) and Frustration Free Packaging (FFP).
  • Strongly prefer candidates with rigid and flexible plastic, resin, laminated pouch, glass, etc.)
  • Position requires approximately 20-50% travel.
