Coordinates the overall function of the Laboratory. Must be a licensed Laboratory Technologist, valid in the State of Florida, with a Laboratory Supervisor License (Certification). This position requires management skills that allows direct and indirect supervision to the laboratory staff, and operation of the laboratory department. Must be familiar and experienced in The Joint Commission lab standards and capable of performing the critical functions necessary to pass TJC lab survey, as well as AHCA regulation and standards, and assures compliance with both. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. May be required to function as Lab Tech, Phlebotomist, or clerical to
Ensure appropriate coverage in the lab department.
Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an undergraduate degree
Experience:
Required minimum of five (5) years of experience in a management level in clinical management
Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:
Current Florida License as Lab Technologist
Current Laboratory Supervisor License
Masters in Management preferred
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Principles and practices of Clinical Services Management including but not restricted to financial reimbursement, scheduling, contract negotiation, personnel management and motivation, coaching, and strategic planning.
