We are looking for a self-driven and experienced HR manager to help define and execute local HR programs in support of business agendas, including employee and leader development, talent and learning programs, engagement plans and competitive bench-marking. This position is the primary support to client groups in the execution of our people priorities, including performance management, talent review, succession planning, compensation review and career progression. This role will support our West Coast Omni Center.
A day in the life…
• Provide informed HR consulting to business leaders to ensure that their talent strategy/goals and priorities are driven by business needs and aligned with company objectives.
• Support the delivery of effective and efficient HR processes through a deep understanding of HR fundamentals, knowledge of specialist functions, use of consulting and advising skills, and utilizing reporting and data management/tracking of key HR metrics.
• Act as the primary interface with the West Coast Director of HR and appropriate individuals to identify solutions to business challenges
• Work closely with managers to address and resolve performance issues. Conduct investigations of identified employee relations (ER) issues.
• Monitor and implement compliance programs to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies
• Understand and implement Nordstrom compensation philosophy and processes, ensuring tight alignment of specific compensation decisions.
You own this if you have…
• BA/BS degree preferred; certifications and course work in specific areas of HR expertise preferred 5+ years
• Experience leading a team of HR professionals preferred
• Experience working across a variety of HR disciplines, including, recruiting and talent management
• Proficiency with Windows applications and HR systems; experience with Workday a plus.
• Strong communication skills, ability to influence and articulate a variety of issues to different audiences, tailoring messages accordingly
• Comfort ‘owning’ the details and driving execution as well as mapping out broader talent
