What does a great Director, Product Management do?
- Collaborate with research companies, associations, existing and prospective banks/customers to identify market needs/opportunities for existing and new product opportunities
- Bring to bear the strengths of the business to meet market needs, identify growth opportunities, develop a comprehensive and compelling data driven business case/plan for new and existing products. Including: market size; pricing, 3-5 year forecasted revenue and expense, product positioning, market requirements and marketing plan
- Determine which channels best align with target markets’ buying preferences
- Analyze and provide a data driven business case whether to buy, build or partner to complete the solution for the target market
- Ensure that product strategy is translated into well-defined requirements and products delivered meet original business goals
- Ensure cross-functional readiness for new product releases and enhancements – including client services, sales, marketing, operations etc.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to determine how well the product is performing in the market, how it impacts the company operations and ultimately, how it contributes to profit
- Work with business strategy, product marketing, Account Executive and Global Sales to drive product sales
- Coordinate with other product managers in broader Fiserv to align roadmap and secure interlock
- Develop and keep ongoing a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis for existing and new products
- Participate in new logo sales and client retention pursuits and client and industry conferences.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related analytical field
- 7 years’ experience – financial services experience required
- Experience in Banking and/or Payments industry
- Minimum 5 years managing Product Management teams
- Ability to develop a vision and strategy for our solutions to win in the market and gain consensus and support from leadership
- Proven ability to understand complex business and technical concepts and make balanced judgments when faced with trade-offs.
- Understanding of full Product Management and delivery life cycle
- Broad general management mindset and strong business and analytical acumen
- Ability to work and influence in a complex cross functional environment
- Outstanding presentation and communication abilities
- Self-starter with the ability to independently prioritize and get results in an ambiguous/fast paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Product Management at a financial technology company or a financial institution
- Have managed products or led product management teams at multiple companies or divisions and able to articulate and apply different product management methodologies
Travel Required:
- Travel: ~10%-20%
