The Associate Director, Admissions (regionally based) plays a lead role in the design, implementation, and execution of a comprehensive recruitment and admission outreach program in the Mid-Atlantic States that meets the University’s targeted enrollment goals. This position participates in all activities related to the admission of students to undergraduate study at the University of Miami.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Plays a lead role in developing recruitment strategies and planning. Creates a calendar of events in support of the recruitment strategy, including, but not limited to, high school visits, college fairs, off-campus counselor events, alumni engagement activities, and interviews. Assesses strategy effectiveness to determine impact on enrollment and makes recommendations for improvement. Plays a lead role in executing admission and recruitment related programs. Assists with planning and coordinating of off-campus visit programs, including domestic and international travel. Organizes and leads off-campus counseling sessions and workshops on the application process. Plays a lead role in managing the Mid-Atlantic States travel recruiting budget that will be necessary to implement targeted enrollment strategies. Analyzes enrollment reports from a variety of sources and makes recommendations. Cultivates relationships with school counselors in the region. Hosts regional recruiting events and receptions. Performs employee evaluations of direct reports as well as salary recommendations, if applicable. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Involved in the implementation of a CRM system.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field required. Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

  • Knowledge of business and management principles.
  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.

  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.

Department Specific Functions

The Office of Undergraduate Admission requires the person in this position to live in one of the Mid-Atlantic States, defined as Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Washington, DC, or Virginia.
