Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries (Goodwill) is seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial, analytic Vice President of Retail to drive the performance of the retail enterprise and pursue opportunities to expand. Goodwill is a dynamic, growing $44 million not-for-profit corporation that helps individuals with barriers to self-sufficiency to achieve independence and dignity through work. Not charity, but a chance.

The retail enterprise generates $27 million in revenue annually through the sale of donated goods in 18 stores, an outlet, and aftermarkets. More than 31 million pounds of donations are collected through the stores, 12 attended donation centers, and 15 recycling centers. Seven stores collect and process donations on-site. The distribution center processes donations for the eleven remaining stores, manages transportation, supports the operation overall, runs the outlet and handles aftermarket sales. The retail enterprise is mission-integrated and provides significant opportunities for program participants to gain real work experience.

The Vice President of Retail reports directly to the President/CEO and is a key member of the executive team. The incumbent provides executive leadership to the retail enterprise, overseeing a diverse, multi-cultural, multi-lingual staff of 329, including 140 paid trainees. There are seven direct reports: three directors of stores/district managers, the director of the flagship store, the director of operations, the director of donations logistics and outreach and the administrative coordinator. This position plans, directs, controls, and evaluates the activities of these departments to ensure that the enterprise achieves revenue and expense budgets and operates efficiently and effectively in accordance with Goodwill policies.

The vice president will drive the expansion of the retail operation including growing revenue at existing stores, opening additional stores within the territory, and driving aftermarket sales.
