About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic VP of Engineering who can help advance our product and technology agenda and team as we scale the business. The ideal candidate is a strong technologist and people leader who thrives in early-stage, fast-paced environments. You have built and led high-performing engineering teams, but still like to roll up your sleeves and write code every now and then. You enjoy operating large-scale, high-throughput systems as much as you like building them, and you relish opportunities to solve problems and overcome challenges others might consider insurmountable. While everyone else is cut/pasting ML/AI into their previous job experiences that had none, you have always believed in building intelligent applications that leverage data to deliver better customer experiences, buzzwords be damned.

Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead a world-class engineering team building cloud-based products in a collaborative and fun environment.
- Demonstrated record in leading the development of data-informed/intelligent SaaS products.
- Create cohesion between product and engineering teams, successfully executing on a product roadmap and vision.
- Align and coordinate development processes, ensuring team-wide adoption and success in using agile/post-agile methodologies.
- Achieve continuous delivery and associated measures of operational excellence for a world-class product.
- Leverage understanding of long and short-term business goals to determine the right technology and approach for delivery.
- Apply expertise to manage tradeoffs between performance, delivery, reliability, and scalability when considering business objectives and deadlines.
- Create and execute Engineering team hiring plans and strategy within headcount allocation.
- Build a deep understanding of the entire technology stack to ensure commitment to a customer-focused mindset.
- Provide proactive forecasting of deliverables and timelines.
- Ensure technical standards and architectural goals are consistently met by performing code reviews, building a thoughtful and respectful team culture, and removing barriers to adopting new tech/process/architecture/methodologies.
