      Job Description: Mayville State University is seeking applicants to join our campus community as Vice President for Business Affairs. The Vice President for Business Affairs (VPBA) reports directly to the President and is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the business and financial affairs of the institution. The VPBA provides collaborative leadership as a member of the President’s Cabinet and, as chief administrative officer, is the university representative on the North Dakota University System Administrative Affairs Council and other campus and system-wide committees. Areas of responsibility include operations within the Business Office, Facilities Services, Physical Plant, Dining Services, Safety and Security, Bookstore and Human Resources.

      Minimum qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or accounting;
      • Five or more years of significant leadership and managerial experience in an organizational setting;
      • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with peers and subordinates, as well as other internal and external stakeholders;
      • Progressively responsible fiscal leadership experience in capital planning, financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, and financial controls;
      • Demonstrated effective use of related technology and professional tools;
      • Knowledge of facilities and construction management, institutional master planning and strategic planning processes;
      • Familiarity with current human resource policies and practices;
      • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret, implement, explain, and train constituents on policies and procedures.

      Preferred qualifications:

      • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credentials;
      • Master’s degree or professional degree in business administration, finance, accounting or related field;
      • Demonstrated experience in accounting practices and reporting processes for federal and state funding sources;
      • Administrative experience in a college or university setting;
      • Experience in effective interactions with state agencies;
      • Knowledge of grants management;
      • Strong background in institutional financial strategic planning and forecasting;
      • Experience with PeopleSoft.
