Vice President with Goldman Sachs Bank USA in New York, New York.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs Bank USA in New York, New York within Consumer Technology. Responsible for: Hands-on development of software components utilizing technologies including but not limited to Java, RESTful Web Services, Amazon Web Services, various messaging frameworks, both relational and non-relational databases, agile operating models and other software development lifecycle (SDLC) tools and processes; Developing java based micro services to support features for the Digital Finance platform; Working with the team to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise; Conducting code reviews for the team; Leading the delivery of the technology platform, which will provide a micro-services-based platform for firm’s digitally-led consumer businesses; Ensuring all tasks are tracked in software development lifecycle (SDLC) tools and status of each task reflects accurately; Applying your knowledge and experience to arrive at creative and commercial solutions; Establishing trusted partnerships with product heads, and executive level stakeholders; Understanding feature requests coming in the pipeline and work with the team lead to ensure we have tracked these requests in software development lifecycle (SDLC) tools; Contributing to requirements analysis and architecture discussions; Working with tech and solutions architecture teams to explain technical implementation of services owned and built by the team- the architecture teams are responsible for documenting solutions and involvement should be limited to helping answer technical implementation details; Guiding and mentoring junior team members; and Providing 1-2 analysts technical guidance by helping solve complex problems and conducting reviews of their solutions.
Job Requirements: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field. Three (3) years of experience with a Master’s degree or five (5) years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in the job offered or in a related position. Prior experience must include three (3) years of experience with: Working across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including engaging in requirements gathering, functional and technical design, user acceptance testing, release procedures, change request analysis and production support; Programming enterprise applications using Java including generics, multithreading, collections, and other java concepts; Writing automated testing, including unit, integrated and API level testing; and Writing Java restful APIs using Spring or Dropwizard frameworks. Prior experience must include two (2) years of experience with: Developing and maintaining distributed systems and low-latency services; Building transactional systems and developing software architecture; Working with microservice architecture; and Developing applications using Kafka, MongoDB, and Spring.
