Full Job Description
- Oversee the preparation of design plans, specifications, and quantities
- Experience in the design of highways and local streets and must be familiar with IDOT design standards
- Manage contract deliverables on time and within budget
- Assist with the preparation of proposals and contracts
- Ensure quality control activities are performed for all assigned work and back check work of others
- Interact and communicate effectively with design team members, clients and other agencies
- Manage and direct interaction between multiple offices
Position Requirements
- Bachelorâs Degree in Civil Engineering
- Illinois PE license preferred
- 10+ years of experience in highway engineering design
- Familiarity with Illinois Department of Transportation engineering practices, standards and documentation
- Good decision making skills, flexibility, focus on quality and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently on project design tasks.
- Experience with Geopak, Microstation, and Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word and Power Point)
