The incumbent is responsible for leading, managing, and conducting investigations into schemes or arrangements of financial fraud and abuse either individually or as a team. The position requires a focus on the areas of detection, prevention, risk and investigation and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. This necessitates being able to work and communicate effectively with employees at all levels within the organization globally. The Senior Audit Director of CIG manages a staff of professional investigators, third party investigators, and a forensic computer analyst. Investigative findings are presented to Dow Senior Management for review.
Part of the duties attached to the position require establishing and maintaining a network of global contacts with suitably qualified investigators, accountants, law enforcement agencies, and computer specialists.
Principle Accountabilities:
Investigate or manage investigations involving Dow Global Leadership or cases involving 301 Committee notification. These cases have Executive Management and/or Board of Directors direction and oversight.
Direct all fraud investigations in Dow including: assignment of cases to investigators, oversight of key decisions on cases, oversight of case progress, review of Investigative Reports prepared by Investigators and third party investigators.
Consult with Dow Legal, HR, Security, and other functions on investigative methods and provide ad hoc support for high level issues. Lead and/or support internal training initiatives.
Manage the CIG department processes including: set department goals, establish policies and procedures, manage department budget, talent development, conduct performance reviews, training and hiring of investigators.
Report to (or prepare reports for) Corporate Audit Executive, Executive Management, the Board of Directors and the Office of Global Ethics and Compliance regarding issues, trends, statistics, etc. related to financial fraud in Dow.
Core Responsibilities:
Subject Matter Expert (SME) for corporate investigations for the company
Responsible for the resolution of fraud (corruption, financial statement fraud, asset misappropriation) cases for the company
Hiring, training and development of investigators
Review all investigative work product
Determine case assignments and prioritization
Escalation of cases to the Corporate Audit Executive for additional notifications
Setting department goals and conducting performance reviews
Develop and maintain industry contacts including those in law enforcement, third party investigators, and counterparts in the private sector
Written communication to management including Annual Reports and investigative reports
Training and presentations. Manages training and development of CIG investigators. Conducts internal and external fraud presentations.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelorâs degree (Accounting or Finance preferred)
Formal training and in excess of 10 years of investigative experience involving financial fraud and in conducting complex investigations.
Extensive experience in managing complex investigations is required.
Formal training and experience in preparing cases for civil or criminal trials, rules of evidence, interviewing techniques, and case management is required.
Certification required: Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
