Job Summary: Provides overall management direction for existing projects and develops new business opportunities relative to a particular client, group of clients or geographical area. Ensure that project objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in marketing and estimating in any given project as assigned by the President.
- Establishes budgets, drafts subcontracts and purchase orders. Coordinates all contract requirements for a successfully awarded project.
- Monitors construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure project is build on schedule and within budge; investigates potentially serious situations and implements corrective measures.
- Directly supervises Project Superintendent or Foreman.
- Manages financial aspects of contracts (change orders, fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with client.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Drivers License.
- Minimum of 5 years construction management experience, with a thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), craft agreements, engineering, cost control, schedules and safety required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to read, analyze and interpret trade journals, technical documents and equipment manuals, and production reports; ability to write reports and correspondence; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions and concerns.
- Basic math, including percentages and ratios: basic algebra and statistics; graphing and spreadsheet skills.
Education:
- Requires BA/BS in construction engineering or business. Equivalent combination of technical training and/or experience may substitute for degree requirement.
