Custom Building Products is currently seeking a Production Manager for our Aurora, OR facility. This position will work under limited supervision, will perform a comprehensive variety of tasks, lead and direct the work of others and manage the operations of assigned production area to ensure that volume, cost, and quality standards are achieved. Ensures physical and workforce resources are adequate to meet the organization’s production schedule. Manages the activities of production personnel including workflow, assembly methods and work force utilization. Acts as a key business partner focused on establishing, maintaining, developing and promoting a positive employee relations environment and successful business practices that exceed the needs of internal and external customers.

Core Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage, supervise and coordinate departmental workers to meet daily quality specifications.
- Ensure products meet parameters, assess defects, make adjustments and communicate those.
- Oversee work accuracy, quality, and department productivity.
- Develop employee motivation and enthusiasm by setting clear expectations, providing training, giving performance feedback, and engaging in ongoing open communication and employee development, as well as encouraging employees to make suggestions.
- Provide training and evaluate direct reports consistent with company guideline, quality, housekeeping, efficiencies, safety and environmental regulations, and complete any training needed to introduce new policies or procedures.
- Develop production schedules, then track and follow up on day to day operations and make timely adjustments to the schedule to meet production goals.
- Ensure established standards and procedures are followed, but also develop new and update existing procedures as needed.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable occupational health, environmental, and safety policies and procedures.

Requirement Skills & Qualifications:
- 3 – 5 years experience at a managerial/supervisory level
- Experience in training, discipline and performance management
- Reliable, conscientious and self-disciplined
- Strong interpersonal skills both written and verbal and ability to work with and maintain confidential information
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions
- Ability to multi-task, work independently, under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Proficient business software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, JDE and WMS
- Knowledge of Lean, World Class Manufacturing or similar principles; direct experience implementing those principles is strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
