Grand Paws will be a premier pet resort that will offer overnight dog and cat boarding, dog daycare, and grooming services. Grand Paws is currently under construction and is expected to open in May 2020. We are looking for an experienced pet hotel manager to serve as the General Manager of our upcoming pet hotel, with the potential to grow into a Regional Manager once our multiple other locations are completed and opened.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
At minimum three (3) years in an animal service-related pet hotel or major pet retail chain.
PRIMARY GOAL
The primary goal is to manage the day-to-day operations of the resort, specifically ensuring a first-rate experience for our clients and their pets. This includes managing the resort staff to maintain quality standards and best practices regarding guest services execution, overall cleanliness, smooth and accurate check-in & out, client invoicing & cash controls, time management and labor controls, and schedule adherence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
TEAM MANAGEMENT
- Recruit, hire and develop a team focused on building long-term relationship with clients and their pets.
- Train, coach, mentor and discipline team members to guarantee the level of knowledge and ability to provide proper services, as well as maintain a safe environment for our guests.
- Regularly review team member performance and lead by example.
- Manage the resort team in proper execution of task schedules and all related duties in order to provide the proper play times, meals, elimination times, and other tasks listed on schedules as it relates to pet guest care and comfort. Make daily decisions based on time and level of services to provide an exceptional pet guest experience.
- Oversee the scheduling of team member tasks to meet the pet guestâs needs, while maintaining efficient labor practices.
- Develop strategic action plans to continuously analyze staffing levels and maintain productive team members.
CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
- Properly manage the resort facilities, providing a high level of cleanliness and maintenance, and schedule essential cleaning duties and upkeep of rooms and equipment to maximize the appearance, availability and use of pet guest suites.
- Ensure that the team provides the clients with attentive, courteous, and valuable service. Show a personal interest in all pets, and relay pertinent information to the clients regarding the pet guestâs stay, behavior, eating and elimination habits, health, and overall demeanor during their stay.
- Train team on identifying potential pet guest or client issues through the reservation and stay process.
- Properly create, evaluate and support all marketing initiatives and manage the team members to educate and inform all guests of upcoming promotions and initiatives.
- Train team on identifying opportunities for suggestive upselling of pet guest services and the value of the services to our clients and their pets.

Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, climb, as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds
