Job Title: Membership Services Manager
Reports To: GMACC President / CEO
Job Status: Salaried; Base plus incentives

Position Summary:
The Membership Services Manager is responsible for developing relationships with businesses and the community to increase and retain Chamber members, as well as enhance Chamber membership value. This position works strategically to develop and implement programs and services designed to meet the needs of businesses and grow commerce in Muskogee.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Membership Services
1. Actively and regularly works to recruit new members on a daily basis;
2. Ensures retention of current Chamber members;
3. Works with the President / CEO and Vice President to strategically plan activities and programs to meet specific needs of Muskogee businesses;
4. Works with committees and volunteers to schedule, plan and implement member programs which are outlined in the Chamber’s annual Program of Work;
5. Serves on various community boards and advisory committees as directed by the President / CEO;
6. Works with Muskogee Mainstreet to ensure collaboration and to promote downtown businesses;
7. Conducts New Member Orientations and prepares New Member Packets;
8. Works with the Communications Coordinator to schedule ribbon cuttings, open houses, and ground breakings;
9. Works with the President / CEO and Director of Programs to plan and implement Chamber Night
Out, Small Business Initiative and Chamber University sessions;
10. Maintains all membership related records in the Chamber’s membership tracking software, email groups, and other databases;
11. Works with staff to update all membership forms and materials as needed;
12. Prepares New Member Packets;
13. Keeps VIP list up to date;
14. Contacts members who are past due prior to being dropped at Board of Directors meetings;
15. Provides regular reports on all membership services and activities to the President / CEO and other staff;
16. Prepares, mails and updates member verification forms in CC Assist;
17. Works with the Director of Operations to ensure timely and accurate invoicing and receipt of membership dues;
Chamber Programming and Events
18. Works with the President / CEO and Vice President to evaluate return on investment for the
Chamber and Chamber members of each membership activity;
19. Provide support for committees including distributing minutes to members in a timely manner, sending meeting reminders, and maintaining accurate records of committee events;
20. Attends board meetings and chamber functions as directed;
21. Assists the President / CEO in preparing the Annual Budget;
22. Prepares reports for the President / CEO to provide to the Board of Directors for meetings;
23. Serves as the staff liaison for the Ambassadors Committee, and others as assigned;
24. Serves as a member of the Chamber’s marketing team.
Operations and Administration
25. Assists the Communication Coordinator, and serves as the third point of contact with maintaining requests for reservations or tickets to Chamber sponsored events;
26. Works within confines of budget, maintains detailed ‘how to’ records of all programs/projects and maintains accessible and organized documentation;
27. Responds to telephone calls, walk-in guests, emails, voice mails and all requests for information about the community as needed;
Other
28. Perform other duties as directed by the President/CEO.
Knowledge, Experience & Education
– Minimum of two years of experience in sales and/or marketing;
– Strong interpersonal skills to effectively cultivate relationships with prospects, members, volunteers and community stakeholders;
– Ability to think creatively and innovatively as well as provide solutions;
– Ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences;
– Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team;
– Results-oriented and willingness to be accountable for measurable goals;
– Strong computer skills; familiar with Microsoft Office and member management database systems a plus.
