Business Unit Overview

WB Technology combines Warner Bros.’ industry-leading technologists and disciplines to ensure global alignment with business strategy and accelerated delivery of innovative technology solutions studio- and industry-wide. From pre-production through archiving, the WBT organization will provide critical business and technology intelligence and services to all Studio business units. WBT manages the Studio’s enterprise systems and solutions, emerging platforms, information security, consumer intelligence, content mastering and delivery, and more.


Opportunity Overview


The Job

The Manager, Technology Privacy Operations position is responsible for leading key business and technology functions to ensure that WB complies with global privacy regulations. This individual will lead the development and maintenance of processes and solutions supporting the requirements of laws and regulations of existing and upcoming privacy regulations, i.e. EU (GDPR)General Data Protection Regulation, (CCPA) California Consumer Privacy Act. From a run state perspective, this individual will lead all processes associated with successfully fulfilling Individual Rights Requests in accordance with the corresponding privacy regulations and SLAs, Vendor Certifications, Master Data Inventory, and enhancement pipelines for OneTrust and other related privacy technologies. From a build state perspective, this individual will liaise between the global business community, legal, technology organizations, and external partners to lead Privacy initiatives and projects throughout the project life cycle. This individual will have practical hands-on experience across all areas of the SDLC including Agile and SCRUM methodologies.

The Daily

  • In collaboration with Legal, lead the development of Data Privacy Processes and Solutions supporting the requirements of laws and regulations of Data Protection, Privacy, i.e. EU General Data Protection Regulation, California Consumer Privacy Act. Responsible for managing project scope, schedule, quality, budget and delivery throughout the project life cycle.
  • Obtain, review, and prioritize functional requirements from the Client (Privacy Legal) and other Key Stakeholders. Ensure the requirements are met with the optimal balance of technology, people, and process-based solutions. Maintain and manage the backlog of requirements.
  • Manage Privacy Operations processes and operations including Individual Rights Requests, Attestation Programs, Vendor Certifications, Master Data Inventory for One Trust and ServiceNow GRC. Produce operational reporting/dashboards and provide trend insights. Review deliverables created by service providers and provide feedback on quality.
  • Develop and maintain Privacy Operations standards and documentation in supporting the requirements of domestic and foreign laws and regulations of Data Protection, Privacy, and other related matters.

The Essentials

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • IAPP certification preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience working in an IT support or client-facing role.
  • Knowledge of Information Management, Data Protection, Privacy, and other related processes (within the entertainment industry highly preferred).
  • Experience implementing and supporting a data privacy tool (One Trust preferred, including data mapping, privacy impact assessments, and data subject request processes).
  • Professional experience in a field directly relevant to compliance with federal, state and local laws, and regulations.
  • Finance and operations experience including knowledge of auditing principles, auditing standards, PCAOB, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
  • Experience gathering requirements, writing functional designs, drawing process flows, uses cases, and writing test cases.
  • Practical application of the software development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile and SCRUM project management with industry-standard best-practice methodologies.
  • Working in a multi-labor work environment that includes internal and out-sourced resources is a plus.
  • At least two major full life cycle global ERP/SaaS implementation desired.
  • Past practice and implementation of process re-engineering efforts.
  • Deep knowledge of Requirements definition and realization.
  • Knowledge of Information Management, Data Protection, Privacy, and other related processes is required (at least one discipline).
  • Solid understanding of the current regulatory and legal framework, including internal control main functions (SOX, Operational Risk, etc.).
  • Awareness and understanding of domestic and foreign laws and regulations of Data Protection, Privacy, and other related matters.
  • Responsible for root cause analysis, testing, and applying valid fixes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Management of 3rd party service providers in application and project delivery (on and off-shore).
  • Knowledge of the software development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile and SCRUM best-practice methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including technical specifications.
  • Responsible for root cause analysis, testing.
  • Experience with business process and integration configuration.
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow.
  • Hands-On experience with privacy solutions.
  • Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent skills with O365, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Visio.
  • Must be able to pay close attention to complex detail and understand written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to organize and schedule work effectively.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including possible overtime, when necessary.
