UW Medicine Enterprise Portfolio Management has an opportunity for a Health System Project Manager (HSPM). You will serve as a critical resource in supporting, managing, and driving strategic projects and initiatives across the enterprise. You will support executive management in executing business/operational strategies. As part of a new group responsible for creating a Health System Project Management Office (HSPMO) function at UW Medicine, you will lead and oversee the Clinical Strategic Planning efforts. The HSPM will integrate the Clinical Strategic Planning efforts into the existing UW Medicine Financial Improvement & Transformation (FIT) program and the UW Medicine Enterprise Portfolio Management department.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide project management for development/implementation of key initiatives and enterprise critical projects. Monitor and manage key deliverables of the associated initiatives.
  • Interact closely with leaders to carry out key projects and work directly with stakeholders across the system to drive successful completion of tactical and strategic initiatives.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with internal departments to implement business/operational strategies.
  • Consult with and influences senior management at various levels in and across a wide variety of functions.
  • Advise and make recommendations to leaders on key strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Provide support for financial, sales and operation reporting and analysis.
  • Use demonstrated ability to successfully lead change and execute on business objectives through oversight and management of key stakeholders and owners.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Health Administration (MHA), or related field of study AND at least 7 years of demonstrated success/results in a consulting capacity (e.g., having overseen and managed multiple projects).
  • Demonstrated ability to influence leaders, employees and teams to work toward deploying a different future state.
  • Strong executive presence including communication and presentation skills with a high degree of comfort to large and small audiences.
  • Demonstrated strength in data-based decision-making, analysis, influencing and storytelling.
  • Experience in planning and managing cross-functional efforts.
  • Experience generating business documentation such as building business cases, identifying personas, defining scenarios, narratives, and process flows.
  • Proven experience motivating high-performing individuals; creating inclusive and collaborative team environment.
  • Regardless of the venue (in-person, phone, or email/text), have the ability to behave as a consummate diplomat – demonstrating professional and patient demeanor in challenging situations.
  • Strong communications both verbal and written in all settings.
  • High levels of competency with: PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, and data visualization software (e.g. Tableau).
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements.
