As American Foods Group’s Engineering Project Manager, you will provide leadership in the development of capital projects and oversee execution of projects through completion. You will work out of the Research and Development Center located in Omaha, NE.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure contractors are performing work in accordance with all safety guidelines for American Foods Group and OSHA requirements
  • Manage capital projects at multiple facility locations and oversee project schedules/budgets
  • Provide leadership to plants in development of capital projects to ensure compliance of corporate construction specifications
  • Act as subject matter expect in the area of construction management and project development
  • Lead project scope development, initial costing of projects, and negotiation through the bid process
  • Act as onsite lead for high profile construction projects at company locations
  • Identify and recommend potential process improvements to construction practices along with potential process improvements to the facilities operation
  • Assist budget estimates for capital projects and annual CAPEX process

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Science, or Construction Management (and/or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of experience in a food-related industry, with a strong preference towards Beef or Pork manufacturing/processing
  • Experience in design & construction of food manufacturing facilities
  • Multi-plant experience overseeing capital projects
  • Ability to travel up to 70%
  • Working knowledge of Utility Systems (Compressed Air, Hydraulic, & Steam Generation Systems)
  • OSHA 30- hour Construction Safety Training
  • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Project and AutoCAD
  • Experience managing large scale, company-wide projects
  • Ability to facilitate change and manage projects from conception through implementation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mid-level technical and practical application experience
  • Working knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems
