Job Summary:
The Director Warehouse Operations plans, organizes, directs, controls, and manages the daily activities of assigned multi-functional areas within the pharmaceutical distribution center. Plan, organize, schedule, forecast, and coordinate work in order to meet production schedules and operational goals. Review/analyze production, quality and other operational reports, initiating changes, as needed, including logistical adjustments and improvements to meet and exceed business goals. Aptitude and experience to develop logistics daily activities that includes schedules and shipments. Develop and implement plans, procedures, programs and strategies to enhance performance, service level, and cost-per-piece. Preferred experience in pharmaceutical or medical industry; VAWD, FDA, DEA experience or working with regulatory bodies; rapid growth and scaling experience; Lean Six Sigma or systematic process improvement.

· Oversees the daily workflow of the distribution.
· Standardized production reporting.
· Responsible for regulatory requirements for distribution.
· Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
· Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with NWP policy.
Essential Functions:

- Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Proficient with warehouse standard operating procedures and holds center and associate to regulatory standards.
- Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
- Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
- Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
- Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintains metrics and analyzes data to assess performance and implement improvements.
· Maintains professional demeanor in every level of communications whether inter-department, regulatory body, customer, peer, or leadership.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
· To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of pharmacy software, Internet, and word processing systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership
· Determine the objectives of the department; plan, organize and direct general pharmaceutical policies and procedures.
· Establish satisfactory methods of drug distribution and control.
· Interview, select and supervise the activities of the department staff; communicate interpret and discuss with staff departmental policies and procedures.
· Determine job objectives, work methods and performance standards; review their performance relative to departmental objectives discussion appraisal with each employee and performance; authorize and communicate salary changes, promotions, transfers, discipline and discharge and administer all other personnel actions.
· Establish reporting and approval procedures; delegate authority to assistants in order for them to direct the work of others. Provide authorization for supervision, orientation, training, job objectives, performance standards and appraisal, personal development, safety, communication, discipline, grievances and other personnel actions.
· Appropriately recognize organizational lines within the department; keep employees informed of matters affecting their work and interest; interpret and explain NWP policies and procedures, department objectives, operations, services, organization, budget and seek comments and suggestions form employees.
· Seek compliance with outside agencies relevant to requirements for maintenance of services. Assure that professional competence of staff is maintained through education and coordination with senior staff. Plan for both short and long-range goals of the department in concert with the whole organizational plan of the hospital.
· Prepare, upon request, reports and special studies; participate in and contribute to management and professional committees at all level inside and outside of the organization; keep informed of PBM trends and changes insides and outside of the organization which relate to assigned functions.
Qualifications
- Regulatory Standards Board of Pharmacy, VAWD, DEA and FDA
- Supply Chain Six Sigma Certification Preferred
- Record of successful work in distribution and logistics
- PC skills with Work and Excel proficiency
- Knowledge of packaging requirements for domestic and international shipments for air, surface and ocean.
Technology
· Utilizes reporting analytics to establish productivity standards and measurements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors’ degree and 5+ years of experience preferred but extensive experience is also highly valued and will be considered.

Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds at times.
